CONNECTING ELECTRIC GUITARS AND BASSES

Electric guitars and basses can be connected to the ¼” inputs as well. The combination of the [TRIM] control and the fared level on the front panel will deliver more than enough gain to drive these sources.

However, note that the line-level inputs are relatively low impedance (600O-2 kO nominal), whereas most electric guitars and basses perform best when connected to a high impedance input closer to 200kO or higher. The resulting impedance mismatch may dull the sound of the guitar or bass. If this dulling occurs, use a direct box to connect such high-impedance instruments to the iMultiMix.

PHANTOM POWER

The iMultiMix can provide phantom (+48V) power for condenser microphones. Phantom power is applied to all five microphone inputs.

INSERTS

¼” TRS jacks on channels 1-5 allow you to plug external insert effect processors (gates, compressors, pitch correction devices, etc.) into the signal path of these channels. The insert effect is inserted into the channel signal directly after the preamplifier (controlled by the TRIM knob on the front of the unit) and before the channel’s EQ and fader.

PAN/BALANCE: The Pan control (mono input channels) assigns the channel signal to any spot in the stereo spectrum. The Bal control (stereo input channels) shifts the balance between the left and right inputs.
