Connect the Controller to Your PC Running Windows XP
Xbox 360 Controller software for Windows enables the controller to work with a PC running Windows XP. To download the software, go to www.windowsgaming.com. You must first install the software, then connect the Xbox 360 Controller to your computer’s USB port.
After installing the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows software and connecting the controller to a computer’s USB port, you can verify that the controller is working by clicking Game Controllers in the Windows Controller panel. See your game manual to determine whether your game supports the Xbox 360 Controller.
Connect Your Controller to Your Xbox 360 Console
To connect the Xbox 360 Controller to the Xbox 360 console, insert the controller cord connector into any USB port on the front of the console. To disconnect, pull the controller cord connector out. Be sure to pull on the connector, not the cable.
Xbox Guide Button
The button with the Xbox 360 logo in the center of the controller is the Xbox Guide button. Press the Xbox Guide button to turn on your console or to go to the Xbox Guide if the console is already on.
